Yoga in the classical style
Andy Taylor is an independent yoga teacher based in Sydney. He has been practicing yoga since 1999 and began teaching in 2016.
Andy’s yoga is the classical tradition, and is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher. Andy’s own teacher, Pixie Lillas, is one of Australia’s best respected yoga teachers, and was a direct student of BKS Iyengar.
Class sizes are small, and Andy pays individual attention to each student, taking into account their experience, ability, body type and confidence. All levels of fitness and experience are welcome.
Classes are fun and, as most students come to class regularly, there are always familiar faces and a few laughs.
There is usually a focus on a different group of poses each week, in a four-week cycle. In the first week we work on standing poses, in the second week we concentrate on forward bends, during the third we follow a sequence of backbends, and in the last week of each cycle we slow down for some more restorative poses.
Sessions are dynamic, so no class is ever the same, but Andy’s teaching has a strong foundation in correct alignment and precision.
